Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

  • Activity: Airport Pickup

  • Description: Welcome to Rwanda! Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be greeted by one of our company representatives and transferred to your accommodation. The day’s schedule may vary based on your arrival time, so settle in and relax.

Day 3: Akagera National Park – Sunset Boat Ride

  • Activities: Park History, Boat Safari

  • Description: After breakfast, drive to Akagera National Park, about 2.5 hours from Kigali. Learn about the park’s history, anti-poaching measures, and conservation efforts. In the evening, embark on a sunset boat safari on Lake Ihema for a unique view of hippos, crocodiles, and an array of bird species as the sun sets.

  • Overnight: Accommodation in Akagera

Day 5: Kigali to Musanze – Twin Lakes Visit

  • Activity: Twin Lakes Tour

  • Description: After a relaxed morning, drive to Musanze in the early afternoon. Once there, visit the scenic Twin Lakes, Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo. Learn about their unique volcanic origins and enjoy the serene mountain views.

  • Overnight: Hotel near the Twin Lakes

Day 7: Gisenyi – Lake Kivu Kayaking & Hot Springs

  • Activities: Kayaking, Hot Springs, Congo Border Visit

  • Description: Kayak along Lake Kivu's coastline, with its tranquil waters and lush hills. You’ll also have the chance to relax in hot springs and take a short visit to the nearby Congo border.

  • Overnight: Hotel in Gisenyi

Day 9: Kibuye to Nyungwe National Park

  • Activities: Bisesero Memorial, Canopy Walk, Nature Walk

  • Description: On the way to Nyungwe National Park, visit the Bisesero Memorial. After checking in, go on an afternoon canopy walk, providing a bird’s-eye view of the forest’s unique flora and fauna. You may also spot Angola colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and other primates.

  • Overnight: Hotel in Nyungwe

Day 11: Rwanda National Museum in Butare

  • Activity: National Museum Visit

  • Description: Begin the day with a visit to the National Museum, which offers insights into Rwanda’s history, culture, and daily life. After lunch, return to Kigali.

  • Overnight: Hotel in Kigali

Day 13: Souvenir Shopping & Traditional Cooking Class

  • Activities: Craft Market Visit, Cooking Class, Basket Weaving

  • Description: Enjoy a leisurely morning before visiting local craft shops for souvenirs. In the afternoon, join a local family to learn traditional Rwandan cooking and try basket weaving or making handmade bags.

  • Overnight: Hotel in Kigali

Day 2: Kigali City Tour

  • Activities: Gisozi Genocide Memorial, Campaign Against Genocide Museum, Kimironko Market

  • Description: Meet your guide for a briefing on the tour package. Start your day with a visit to the Gisozi Genocide Memorial, where you’ll gain insight into Rwanda’s history. After lunch, visit the Campaign Against Genocide Museum and then Kimironko Market, bustling with local vendors selling fresh produce, fabrics, and crafts.

Day 4: Akagera Game Drive

  • Activity: Full-Day Game Drive

  • Description: Enjoy a full-day game drive through Akagera National Park, from the southern savannas to the northern plains, where you may spot lions, rhinos, elephants, and buffaloes among other wildlife. Keep your camera ready for incredible photo opportunities.

  • Overnight: Hotel in Kigali

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

  • Activity: Gorilla Trekking

  • Description: After breakfast, head to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing before your trek into the mountains. Spend time observing the majestic mountain gorillas in their natural habitat—a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Afterward, drive to Gisenyi.

  • Overnight: Hotel in Gisenyi

Day 8: Gisenyi to Kibuye

  • Activities: Sunset Boat Ride, Napoleon Island Visit

  • Description: Drive to Kibuye, a city on Lake Kivu’s shores. Take a sunset boat ride to Napoleon Island, home to a colony of fruit bats. Enjoy the serene lake views and capture some beautiful photos.

Day 10: Chimpanzee Trekking & Butare

  • Activities: Chimpanzee Trek, King’s Palace Museum

  • Description: Start with an early morning chimpanzee trek in Nyungwe. Afterward, drive to Butare for lunch and continue to the King’s Palace Museum in Nyanza, where you’ll learn about Rwanda’s royal history and see the famed Inyambo cows.

  • Overnight: Hotel in Butare

Day 12: Horseback Riding at Fazenda Sengha

  • Activities: Horseback Riding, Zipline, Archery

  • Description: Head to Fazenda Sengha on Mount Kigali for a day of adventure with horseback riding, ziplining, and archery. Enjoy sweeping views of Kigali’s landscape before returning for a night out in the city.

  • Overnight: Hotel in Kigali

Day 14: Departure

  • Activity: Airport Transfer

  • Description: Pack your bags and prepare for your flight home. We’ll ensure a comfortable transfer to Kigali International Airport.
